about

The GodCreatorArtistMagician looked through the clear night. He was alone. He felt the urge to reach into the darkness and make joyous life. He dove into firmament and danced. He played in the raw matter of the universe, throwing shapes and forms and breathing life into all corners. He set one of his favorite little blue worlds to spinning. On it he started the process and watched as life emerged, changed, learned and grew. Paths in the water became tracks on land. Tracks became trails. Those became roads. The buildings became taller. Then, in what was a blinking of an eye to The GodCreatorArtistMagician, his Creations slipped from him. He felt hollow. The Creations he hoped would be as overjoyed living life as he was creating it... weren't. They killed each other. They stumbled toward oblivion with every wobbling step. The GodCreatorArtistMagician wanted no more of it. He couldn't stand to see The Creations decay. His heart broke too easily. He decided it was time to walk away. The Creations didn't really need him anymore, anyway. The GodCreatorArtistMagician wanted to find a new place, somewhere is his canvas, his expanse. A new place where he could finally wander, wonder and find joy again. He said his quiet goodbyes and took flight. The GodCreatorArtistMagician moved out into the universe through the vast fabric of reality, eventually finding a small shining world with a sky filled with the churning, glowing power of creation. A sky shimmering with light and joy. Every day the birth of stars filled the expanse around him. The blazing engines of life burning, burning, burning. The GodCreatorArtistMagician was happy.

When The Creations returned home they found a note from The Creator. He had gone to find its own happiness.

Track Name: Godwhere (e) Until I'm Holy
On a night when it's clear
I swear you can see God from here
breaking his fist against the walls
holding court in his halls
"Where did I go wrong?
Where did I go wrong?"

Meet me in the sunlight
where dark things don't creep
and hold me until I'm holy
or at least I get some sleep
the sadder days are coming
and we'll meet them in the street
with blessed vows and a kiss goodnight
we'll make our retreat
to the blind side

On a night when it's clear, I swear you can see God from here
Track Name: Giving Notice
I've been watching
from the high winds
losing patience
losing ground

I've been moving
along the iceflow
just waiting for
the world to go down

I've been washing
the feet of sinners
all day long
all year round

I've had no time
for a cup of coffee
It's time to pack my shit
and get out of this town

Sorry to leave this way
what can I say?

I'm exhausted
down to my spirit
through muscle
into bone

I know there's no
easy replacement
but I'm burned out
you're on your own

Sorry to leave this way
what can I say?

What can I say?
What can I say?

You can't make me
a better offer
my mind is clear
I'm out the door

I've given you
the best years of my life
and in return
you always want more

Sorry to leave this way
What can I say?
Track Name: Some Place Better
By the time you get this letter
I'll be some place better
Because I'm jumping free
You don't have to watch me leave
I'm walking away clean
my slate pristine
By the time you get this letter
I'll be some place better

Meet me in the sunlight
where the dark things don't creep
and hold me until I'm holy
or at least I get some sleep
because the sad days are coming
and we'll meet them in the street
with blessed vows and a kiss goodnight
we'll make our retreat

By the time you get this letter
I'll be some place better

On a night when it's clear
I swear you can see some place better from here
