Angel appeared at the foot of his bed
he was talking all kinds of holy
and glowing about the head
he said
"Get up boy, you're gonna be background noise.
You don't get to sleep anymore."

The angel said
"Take every pain you've ever felt
and throw it in the ocean.
Take every love you've ever felt
and toss it in the ocean.
Capture lightning in a bottle
and throw it in the ocean
you're background noise."

The Angel just stood there
oscillating
the Boy lay there tossing
and turning and debating
he said "What's this shape
in my heart"
The Angel laughed and said,
"Boy, that's a tip jar"

The boy felt the burning in his chest
he screamed "this doesn't make any sense"
"I should want something better for myself
but I want nothing else"

The Boy looked down at the foot of his bed
to the Angel standing there
and he said
"how long will I just be noise in people's heads?"
The Angel smiled "I'm sorry, Boy, you'll do it 'til you're dead"
