I still know every inch of your body
I can still smell you on my clothes
but it'll go away with effort, time and age
isn't it funny the way the fading goes

it's late at night when the demons start to rise
and I can't drink fast enough to keep up with them this time
but they'll all decay with alchohol, sex and shame
isn't it funny the way the fading waits

some memories are great some just comfortable and safe
either way, I don't want them to come to play
and I would gladly trade this poem for a lack of pain

Ain't it strange the way love just melts away
and me I fight the things I cannot change
and so I'll pray and wrestle with the day
isn't it funny the way the fading lays

somewhere in my mind I know I'll be all right
but that doesn't really help me tonight
so I'll drink and smoke and I'll make it all a joke
